|Drum Magic Prepares to Entertain Knoxville Community|
Drum Magic will help keep the beat at Dollywood’s annual Festival of Nations from April 7 through April 12 with a chance for you and your family to make music in a drum circle. The festival brings an eclectic mix of entertainment from around the world to the Knoxville theme park.
While the whole family can get involved with the fun-filled experience of the drum circle at Dollywood, local businesses can also capitalize on the benefits of Drum Magic.
Jana Broder, owner of Drum Magic, uses the power of community drumming to create a corporate America where people are happily employed. The concept is simple to Broder: increased employee satisfaction leads to higher levels of efficiency and greater emotional and financial returns.
“The first step of the healing process is for drum circle participants to replace talking with listening and responding to each other through this inspirational form of rhythmic communication,” said Broder.
The “corporate healing” created by community drumming may reach further than company productivity and employee emotions. One peer-reviewed study, published in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine by Dr. Barry B. Bittman of the Mind-Body Wellness Center, Meadville, Pa., indicates that group drumming increases the amount of natural killer cells found in the body. These natural killer cells are important in the human body’s natural cancer defense mechanism. Over time, increased levels of these cells may help prevent or treat long-term diseases.
In addition to increasing the amount of natural killer cells, Dr. Bittman found that group drumming emphasizing camaraderie and team building decreased levels of stress-related hormones.
Although there are other more physically demanding corporate team building activities, group drumming can be enjoyed by just about anyone, regardless of their physical limitations or skill level. Simple instructions and a skilled drum circle facilitator allow enjoyable experiences in both the group and individual drum circles.
Jana Broder and her Drum Magic team provide everything her corporate clients need to get their drum circles on beat and corporate productivity on a roll.
